It is a national plan, led by the Chambers of Agriculture, aimed at reducing
the use of phytosanitary products in France. This initiative has been
launched after the Grenelle Environment Forum (2008). Since 2008, the
Vignerons "Terrassous" have mobilized alongside researchers, farmers and
chambers of agriculture technicians and have engaged many
actions to achieve this goal.
How it works ?
To achieve the reduction objectives we have set ourselves,
a whole battery of tools have been set up like:
• Training farmers with obtaining a "certiphyto"
guaranteeing good practices (individual certificate issued for
each operator trained)
• The creation of a network of pilot farms to pool the good
• The posting of a plant health newsletter that alerts the
producers on the arrival of parasites
• A sprayer control program that is used (a
poor adjustment leads to unnecessary dispersion of crop protection products)
The state engages more than 300 agents on the territory to assure the
consumers an optimal level of quality and food safety
Town halls, communities, departmental services that manage
the public space and the roads participate in the actions put in place.
Terrassous explores new avenues for the fight against certain
parasites (such as the eudemis butterfly) by laying out in the vineyard of
pheromone capsules to ward off the pest.
This efficient practice and very respectful of the environment is
unfortunately expensive in time and investment for the winemaker.
During vineyard visits (gourmet walk, starry night, ...), our
winemakers explain to visitors the cultural procedures and the good
practices implemented throughout the year in respect of
men and their environment
