Terrats, a land of traditional skills

Our cellar was founded in 1932 and now we have 70 winemakers cultivating our 700 hectares vineyard, using a combination of ancestral skills and modern techniques of cultivation and wine production.

Over 90 % of our vineyards are listed as Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (registered deignation of origin) (A.O.C Côtes du Roussillon—Les Aspres, A.O.C Côtes du Roussillon, A.O.C Muscat de Rivesaltes, A.O.C Rivesaltes) and every year we produce between 30 000 and 35 000 hectolitres.

Since 1972, our wines have been commercialised under the name “TERRASSOUS”.

Our wine warehouse :

Our wine warehouse is divided into different areas, according to the different types of vinification. (White wines, rosés, natural sweet wines and red wines)

Our wine maturation warehouse :

Both of our vintages “Pierres Plates rouge” and “Pierres Plates blanc” mature in barrels in the air-conditioned part of the warehouse.

Our natural sweet wines mature in barrels or in Demi-Muids under the roofs and at room temperature.

All bottled wines are stored in our air-conditioned warehouse.

Terrats, a Land of legends

Once upon a time there was a mysterious city named Mirmade not far away from the wide Cantarana river.
Traditional tales say that Mirmade had been a land of fairies for a very long time and, under the reign of King Arthur, magnificent rooms were inhabited by enchantresses. In these rooms they filled the souls of the men they cherished with happiness and pleasure.
Nowadays, it is on this same land that the winemakers of Terrats cultivate their vines with love. Whether this is a myth or a legend, there still is a bit of magic in these nectars from Gods, the Terrassous wines.
